25 Best Chefs - Ukraine is a stylish, fully illustrated book which not only showcases recipes from some of the country’s best chefs, but also shares their favourite ingredients and their view of the country’s food future.

And for the first time it means that even the most inexperienced cooks will be able to enjoy easy-to-create restaurant standard food in their own kitchens.

The book has been produced by Chef Media, run by English publisher Peter Marshall who has lived in Kyiv from a number of years, and is still living in Kyiv despite the situation, wants to showcase the food of the Ukraine on the world stage.

Ukraine is recognised as the breadbasket of Europe and Peter wanted to showcase how good the Chefs are especially when there skills are combined with local ingredients

Many of the chefs included have worked across the world before returning to their home country, working their way up through the ranks or training in Michelin star establishments.

Others share their inspirational stories about their journey in hospitality, becoming chefs because they weren’t academic and it was the only career choice open to them.

The book includes recipes which appear side by side with stunning photography, featuring many of the Ukraine’s best loved ingredients and shows the influence many of the creators have taken from favourite family and traditional dishes.

At the same time the cookbook also recognises Ukraine’s fast-growing wine industry, with each recipe drink paired by Ukrainian sommelier Anna Peker,

For Peter Marshall the book has been a real labour of love and he is delighted with the end result.

“During these challenging times it has been particularly difficult for anyone working in hospitality,” he said.

“But our chefs wanted to show what an exciting and positive future there is for Ukrainian cuisine and how it is absolutely poised to take up its rightful place on the world stage.

“We have so much amazing produce and talented chefs that I am thrilled that we have been able to produce a book which pays homage to their skills.”
